What this is, and what it is not.
World Legal Services is a technology platform that connects clients with verified, independent professionals. It is not a law firm and not an accounting firm. Its founder is a lawyer of more than thirty years standing, which is the reason the verification standard is what it is, and it does not make the platform a practice.
What the platform does is verify the people listed on it, publish what they charge, hold the money until the work is done, and give you somewhere to take a complaint. What it does not do is advise you, represent you, or carry responsibility for the advice you are given. Every professional here is independently liable for their own work and answerable to their own association.
Nobody can guarantee the outcome of a case, and this platform does not pretend to. It guarantees payment for services rendered, not the result. It guarantees that the person you are dealing with is who they say they are, that the price was agreed before the work started, and that there is a process waiting if something goes wrong. Claims for professional negligence lie against the member and their professional indemnity insurance.
