Verification

What being listed here actually requires.

Verification is the product. If it were a formality, this platform would be a directory, and Zimbabwe already has directories.

04Verification

Anyone can call themselves a professional. Not here.

Zimbabweans lose money to people practising without a certificate every year. Verification is the reason this platform exists, so it is not a badge we hand out. It is a check we repeat.

  • A current practising certificate

We hold the certificate and its expiry date. A profile stops being listed the day the certificate lapses.

  • A Law Society contact on file

Each professional is recorded against the Law Society contact who can confirm their standing.

  • Fees published, not quoted later

Consultation and matter fees are on the profile before you book. No engagement letter to find out the number.

  • Ratings from completed work only

A rating is attached to a booking that took place. Nobody can rate a professional they never saw.

The five stages, in order.

A professional does not appear in search until all five are complete. There is no provisional listing and no pending state visible to the public.

  1. 01

    Identity and admission

We confirm the person is who they say they are and that they were admitted to practise. Admission year is shown on every profile.

  2. 02

    Practising certificate

We take a copy of the current certificate and record its expiry date against the profile. A certificate is not a one time check. It expires, and so does the listing.

  3. 03

    Law Society contact

We record the Law Society contact who can confirm the professional's standing, so a client who wants to check independently has somewhere to go.

  4. 04

    Fees on the record

Every fee shown on a profile is confirmed with the professional before listing. A fee that changes has to change here too.

  5. 05

    Continuous review

Ratings come only from bookings that took place. Complaints are reviewed against the booking record, and a professional under review stops appearing in search.

A listing is removed when any of these is true.

  • The practising certificate lapses and is not renewed
  • The Law Society confirms the professional is not in good standing
  • Fees charged do not match the fees published here
  • A pattern of failing to appear at booked consultations

If you have dealt with somebody listed here and any of the above applies, report it. A platform that verifies and then stops looking is worse than one that never claimed to verify at all.

Start with the matter you have today.

Browsing costs nothing and you do not need an account to look. The fee is on the profile before you book anything.
