Privacy

What we hold, and what we do not.

Written to be read. If any part of this is unclear, that is a fault in the writing and worth telling us about.

Effective 3 August 2026

01

What data we collect

From clients we collect the following.

  • Full names
  • Country of origin
  • Phone numbers
  • Email address
  • Identity card or passport number
  • Payment information
  • Evidence and case supporting documents
  • IP address
  • Company registration details
  • Association name and registration details

From members we collect the same identity and contact details, together with the credentials, association membership, professional indemnity cover and banking details required to verify them and to pay them. That list is the member application form.

We do not hold your card number, your mobile money PIN or your banking credentials, and we never ask for them. WLS holds the appointment and the payment record, not the substance of what you discuss with your professional.

03

Who we share it with

  • Your matched lawyer or professional, and only the data needed to execute your instructions.
  • Payment processors, such as banks and card and mobile money providers.
  • Service providers, such as cloud hosting.
  • Regulatory authorities.

Your data will not be used for any purpose other than those stated above. It will not be sold.

04

Data storage and security

Data is encrypted and stored on servers. We use two factor authentication and encryption at rest and in transit. Storage may be in multiple countries, which you consent to under the client terms of service.

In the event of a data breach we notify affected users within 72 hours.

05

How long we keep it

This article is not in the founder's brief. It is here because the answer is a fact about how the platform is built, and a policy that does not answer it is incomplete.

Bookings and payment records are kept while your account is open, and afterwards for as long as we are required to keep financial records. Ratings you leave stay attached to the professional after your account closes, without your name.

A deletion request that would break a financial record we are required to keep is limited to the parts we can lawfully remove, and we tell you which parts those are.

06

WhatsApp and the web

WLS works on WhatsApp and on this website against one database. A booking made in either place is the same record and is covered by this policy in the same way.

A conversation you have with us on WhatsApp is also subject to WhatsApp's own terms, which are not ours.

07

Your rights

You can request each of the following.

  • Access to the data we hold about you
  • Correction of anything that is wrong
  • Deletion of your data
  • Portability, meaning a copy of your data in a form you can take elsewhere
  • To object to processing

Write to privacy@worldlegalservices.org. We respond within 30 working days.
